【The Lyre Method】
Integrating the therapeutic instrument
and performance education
Attempts to unite the lyre as
a therapeutic instrument
with the lyre as a form of performance education
have been extremely rare until now.
Over many years,
I have continued to explore the lyre
from both perspectives,
and have established an original method
that integrates therapy and performance,
an approach unprecedented in the history of the lyre.
This method is not about fitting players
into fixed forms or following a predetermined sequence.
It values a process in which each performer,
through sound,
faces and reflects upon themselves,
cultivating inner richness alongside
the acquisition of instrumental technique.
【Two Elements: Therapy and Education】
Teaching involves analyzing musical structure
and the essence of resonance,
and transmitting them with responsibility
to those who listen and learn.
① Human connection
The lyre is a therapeutic instrument,
used even in medical settings,
and has a profound effect on the human psyche.
For this reason, I strive to maintain
a careful and sincere approach,
grounded in an understanding of psychological
and spiritual dimensions.
② Educational guidance
In the field of music education,
solid foundational knowledge—
such as that cultivated in conservatory training—
is indispensable and, in my view,
the minimum requirement.
Teaching and transmitting music,
like the study of piano or violin,
rests on a long-term commitment
to deep musical understanding.
I am convinced that true teaching emerges
from the continuation of such accumulated effort.
